BRANTFORD, ON- The Brantford 99ers announced earlier today that they have acquired 2006 born forward Aidan Russell from the Oakville Blades in exchange for a PDF.
The 6’1″, 190 pound winger is in his 2nd OJHL season, although sidelined for all but 5 games this season due to injury. During the 2021/22 season, Russell played his U16 season with the Toronto Jr Canadiens AAA program, scoring 40 points in 55 games and 3 points in 7 OHL Cup Games en route to a silver medal. His performance was good enough to be selected in the 7th round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection by the North Bay Battalion.
In his rookie season with the Blades, Aidan notched 6 goals and 5 assists for 11 points in 48 games.
Russell will wear #11 with the Brantford 99ers.
