Dawson Lukey Acquired From Oakville

BRANTFORD, ON- The Brantford 99ers announced that they have acquired 2004 born Dawson Lukey from the Oakville Blades in exchange for a Player Development Fee.

The 5’11” 183 pound product of St Catharines, Ontario enters his 2nd OJHL season but 1st full season joining the Blades midway through last season. He has scored 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in 17 games, 3 of those points coming against the 99ers earlier this season.

The 19-year old played his U16 season for Gilmour Academy, a prep school in Ohio where he scored 61 points in 54 games. He continued his high school hockey career with the Academy the following season, scoring another 32 points in 52 games. In 2021, Dawson was drafted in the 15th round of the OHL Priority Selection by the Niagara IceDogs.

Lukey will make his 99ers debut tonight in Buffalo vs. the Jr. Sabres wearing #12. The puck drops at 7:45pm at the Lecom Harborcenter and live on http://flohockey.tv.
