Series Preview- Brantford 99ers vs. Collingwood Blues

BRANTFORD, ON– The Brantford 99ers hit the road this afternoon for Game 1 of their best of 7 series against the Collingwood Blues.

The 99ers managed to secure the 8th and final playoff spot in the West Conference, coming back and surpassing the Toronto Patriots at the last possible moment to steal the spot. Brantford improved from a 5 win season last year to a 25 win season this year.

Evin Kojokaro finished at the top of the team in points with 41 goals and 29 assists for an even 70 points on the campaign. Aaron Andrade wasn’t far behind him, scoring 57 in 51 games. 30 of those points were with Brantford in just 17 games. Goaltender Dylan Grover finished the season with a 0.913 save percentage and a 3.31 goals against average.

The Blues finished the season with just 6 regulation losses, ending the campaign with 99 points and the #1 spot in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Rankings. Collingwood captain Dylan Hudon finished atop his team in points with 73 in 52 games played. Goaltender Noah Pak played 42 of the 56 regular season games for his club, finishing with a 1.30 goals against average and a 0.945 save percentage. It is believed that the Blues will turn to him to take the crease this series.

Collingwood and Brantford played 4 times this season, and despite the Blues skating away with a season sweep, the 99ers managed to keep the games incredibly close.

This exciting series begins tonight at 7:00pm @ Eddie Bush Arena in Collingwood and live on http://flohockey.tv. It is believed that their will be over 1000 fans in attendance, which is going to bring the atmosphere to a level that many of these players have never experienced.
